A Wedding Tale
Here's a true story of a romantic wedding tale for you to enjoy and realize how powerful love is. It doesn't matter what country, culture, religion, traditions you have, the language of love is universal and true love prevails.
This is a true story…
You’ve heard stories of persistence and how
people overcome great obstacles to achieve their
goals. In the following true story you’ll hear
about how a poor man who was considered ugly
wins his true love’s hand in marriage. She was
the most beautiful maiden in the village and from
a rich family.
In Saigon, Vietnam a poor man labors hard but makes
meager wages. He has love a maiden in the village
but she was from a rich and prominent family.
She never paid attention to him and he waited patiently
for 10 years. She was surrounded by handsome and
wealthy suitors. But one day she got ill, with lumps in
her neck and needed to go have surgery. All the suitors
vanished when they found out she was sick. But this
poor man loved her and knew her from the textile
manufacturing plant where he worked. She was the
cousin of the owner and he saw her often. He decided
to visit her and knew that this was his chance to
prove that he loved her and was worthy of her.
He brought her soup for weeks and fed it to her
when her family wasn’t hovering nearby. They became
friends. When the doctor told her that the surgery
was a failure and that she may died in a few days or
a few weeks. She was devastated. He asked her
to marry him right then and there. She was shocked.
She knew that he was dirt poor and would need to
take out loans to pay for the wedding. “I will die in a few
days and you will be paying back the money long after
I am gone. Is that worth it to you?” She asked him.
“I don’t care. I dreamt of marrying you for so long.”
They got married. Her family would have opposed but
not believing she would live long, they let it go. After
over 25+ years together and two grown children I would
say that he made the right decision and persisted through
it all.
